Obituary: Paresh Nath Barooah

Paresh Nath Barooah, son of Lt. Gunindra Nath Barooah, Lieutenant General of the Indian Armed Forces, breathed his last on July 22, in Golaghat and was cremated at his native village in Khumtai in Golaghat district.

Barooah graduated in 1965 from DR College, Golaghat, and joined as an Assistant Librarian in Dibrugarh University in 1966-67 and retired as the Deputy Librarian in 2003. A man is known for his magnanimous heart and honesty he displayed great sportsmanship and was disciplined and sincere towards his duties.

He was a very amiable man and sincere in his duties and managed his family with integrity and discipline. He leaves behind his wife Jyoti Barooah, who was a schoolmistress and two sons – Raktim Barooah, Chief Superintendent NRL Refinery and Ekalabya Barooah, Joint Director, NMIMS Bangalore. Today on the day of his Adya Shraddha, we remember him with great respect and pray to God to grant eternal peace to his departed soul.
