Obituary Radha Devi

Radha Devi, a retired teacher of Gameripal ME School presently known as Sonit Knowar Gajen Baruah High School and a known social worker, breathed her last due to old-age-related ailments on Sunday at her Gameripal residence here. She was 86. She had served as a Panchayat president at Pub Borbhagiya GP in 2002.

An active social organizer, Late Radha Devi was closely associated with many socio-cultural organizations of the greater Gameripal area. Organizations and individuals including Gameripal VDC, Jamugurihat, and Gameripal branches of Assam Nepali Sahitya Sabha, Sonit Konwar High School, Nepali Kabi Mancha Jamugurhat, Pub Borbhagiya GP, Pragati Mahila Samiti, Radha Mahila Samiti, Gameripal Chamber of Commerce, Khalihamari VDC, besides others paid homage to her mortal remains before the last rites.

She leaves behind her two sons, four daughters along with other relatives. Her demise has cast a pall of gloom in the entire area.
