Off-Duty Police Constable found dead under Mysterious Condition in Tezpur

Tezpur: A naked body of an off-duty police constable was recovered under mysterious condition near Ganesh Ghat in Tezpur in the wee hours today.

As per eyewitnesses, the constable identified as Mintu Borah serving as a police constable at Biswanath Police station was missing from his hometown since the last couple of months.

Few of them also claim that he was seen roaming in around the Tezpur town since last few days, however, he was found dead today near the Ganesh Ghat has created a sensation in the region.

Speaking to the media, a police official from Tezpur said, “As per our preliminary investigation we are assuming that he was drunk. He was spotted in the Tezpur town since last few days. He was away from his hometown for the past few months. We have sent the body for post-mortem and waiting for the final reports.”

It may also be mentioned that locals suspected it to be a murder incident as his body was recovered naked. Although the police officials refused to comment on the matter.
