PATHSALA: Farmers in Assam normally grow vegetables in Rabi season. A farmer cannot grow vegetables when there is heavy rainfall due to climate change. So now there is new hope for Assam farmers to grow vegetables in the rainy season with the help of low cost polyhouse and with easily available bamboos. With this they will be able to meet up the market demand. At the same time the farmers will get a better price realisation.

As informed by Dr Minsura Begum, working on behalf of the Directorate of Horticulture & Food Processing as District Horticulture Coordinator looking after all the Horticulture activities under APART, informed that during the FY 2021-22 ,27 Rain shelter Tomato demonstration was taken up in 7 blocks of Barpeta district in which some demonstrations were damaged due to flood at Barpeta.
