Oil India Limited  CMD Utpal Bora  urges students to focus on cleanliness in Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh, Sept 24: As part of the Government of India’s Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, Oil India Limited chairman and managing director Utpal Bora, accompanied by his wife Parul Bora, along with Executive Director (HR& A), OIL, Pranjit Deka, and other officers of Oil India Limited visited Ushapur High School located in the heart of OIL’s operational area in Ushapur in Dibrugarh district on Monday.

The dignitaries were felicitated by the school authority as well as by Nivedita Borthakur, Zonal Head, IL&FS, the organization implementing computer education and other education related projects in the school under OIL’s CSR.

As a part of this awareness drive, hygiene kits were distributed to all the students. In his address to the students and teachers, Utpal Bora highlighted the efforts undertaken by Oil India Limited to spread awareness on the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign. He urged the students to adopt cleanliness in every aspect of their lives. He pointed out that lack of cleanliness was one major cause of illness and disease.

Speaking on the occasion, Pranjit Deka shared the efforts undertaken by OIL under Swachh Bharat Mission where OIL had already constructed several toilets in various districts of Assam. He also mentioned about the substantial contribution made by Oil India Limited under its CSR programme towards open defecation-free district initiatives undertaken by Dibrugarh district in the last financial year and similar commitment for both Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts in the current financial year. He also appealed to the students to strive for cleanliness in their heart and mind also.
