OMR Sheet changed in TET exam 1 arrested in Goalpara

Goalpara: A grade four staff of PR Govt. HS and MP school, Goalpara was caught red handed during the high school TET exam on Sunday when he tried to supply from outside an already filled up OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) sheet to a particular student.

The accused staff was identified as Nur Nobi and the student to whom he supplied the OMR was Pranabjyoti Kalita. The incident happened in the school’s room number 24.

The incident occurred five minutes prior to the end of the particular exam. A lady teacher was on invigilator duty at the time of the happenings.

“The staff came inside and tried to exchange the old OMR from the student with the one in his hand. We protested and brought the matter before the invigilator. Then he was taken to the principal’s room,” said a student from the same room.

Principal M Sojimuddin Ahmed immediately brought the matter to the notice of the inspector of Schools and the district administration.

Executive magistrate Banti Kalita, inspector of school Nripen Das and headquarter DSP Rupjyoti Kalita arrived at the school and initiated an investigation.

Later, Nur Nobi was arrested and the OMR Sheet of Pranabjyoti Kalita was brought under investigation.

Sources claimed that the accused student is a close relative of a senior teacher of the same school who was present at the school during the occurrence of the incident.
