One dies of Japanese Encephalitis in Jamugurihat

Due to the spurt in COVID-19 cases, Sonitpur district has been categorised as a ‘Red’ district

JAMUGURIHAT: Due to the spurt in COVID-19 cases, Sonitpur district has been categorised as a 'Red' district; and, the entire district declared as a 'Containment Zone'.

According to the information received from the Health Department, a total of 1,569 COVID-positive persons are undergoing treatment in North Jamuguri Hospital, Jamuguri Subsidiary Hospital and Rangachakuwa PHC. Of this, a total of 1,430 have recovered from it while 12 succumbed to the infection.

As many as 27 patients are undergoing treatment in different COVID Care Centres. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, one person succumbed to JE (Japanese Encephalitis) here recently. According to information, the person has been identified as Khagendra Das (67). He was undergoing treatment in North Jamuguri Hospital.
