One held with hand-made revolver

Bongaigaon, June 21: On the basis of secret information regarding movement of a person with illegal arms and ammunition from Chapaguri side to Kokrajhar side by vehicle, multiple check posts were placed by police and CoBRA team of 210 Batallion of CoBRA on NH 31-C at Samthaibari and nearby places. During checking of the passengers of a bus bearing registration number AS-16 1527, three country-made revolvers and 11 rounds of live ammunition of unspecified calibre and one mobile handset with SIM were recovered from the possession of a passenger. During preliminary interrogation he revealed his identify as Md Forman Ali, a resident of Mojrabari village under Sidli police station of Chirang district. Police continued their interrogation to find out his links with any militant organization. A case has been registered in Sidli Police Station of Chirang district.
