One killed in road mishap at Demow

DEMOW: One person died after being hit by a car on Sunday evening on the NH-37 road at Rajmai under Demow Police Station. The deceased has been identified as Sarudhan Raidehingia, a resident of Palengi Kesuwani Gaon. According to sources, Sarudhan Raidehingia had finished shopping in the Rajmai weekly bazaar and was going towards his residence on a bicycle on Sunday evening when a car which was coming from Demow and heading towards Sivasagar, hit him from behind at a high speed. Though he was taken to Demow Model Hospital, the doctor declared him dead. After the accident, local people caught the driver of the car and another person who was in the car. They were handed over to Demow Police.
