One person was trampled to death by wild elephant at Lakhipathar Reserve Forest under Digboi PS in the Tinsukia district.

TINSUKIA: One person was trampled to death by wild elephant at Lakhipathar Reserve Forest under Digboi PS in the Tinsukia district. His body was recovered on Saturday.
According to reports, Kedar Chetry (70) of Kendraguri village went to the forest near Nalanda LP School to fetch grass for his goat on Friday like other days and went missing. A search by villagers at night turned out to be futile. After his body was retrieved, Digboi police and Lakhipathar Forest Range staff were informed, who sent the body to Tinsukia Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination in presence of a magistrate.
