ONGC Assam Asset distributes customized intelligent artificial limbs to Divyangs in Sivasagar and Charaideo

GAURISAGAR: ONGC has launched a notable CSR project to help Divyangs discover ‘Joy of Mobility’. ONGC Assam Asset has breathed a new lease of life of mobility and freedom through its proactive CSR initiative to provide free Intelligent Robotic Artificial Limbs to Divyangs of Sivasagar and Charaideo districts.

During the final leg of a mega camp held at Officers’ Club, ONGC, Nazira on Tuesday, 13 amputees were provided 14 Custom Fit Intelligent Robotic Artificial Limbs in presence of ED Asset Manager, ONGC, Assam Asset, Suresh D Maske, Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Dr Lakshmanon S, ED-OSD, ONGC, Assam Asset, A K Gupta and CGM-Head HR/ER, ONGC, Assam Asset, Sanjay Goel. This completes the third phase of the unique CSR project under which 42 Divyangs of Sivasagar and Charaideo districts of ONGC operational areas, who have lost their limbs, will be fitted with superior quality intelligent robotic artificial limbs with customized measurement.

Earlier, nine Divyangs were fitted with an artificial limb on December 17, 2018 at the ONGC Officers’ Club, Nazira. The cost of the first three phases of the project, which includes 22 beneficiaries, is Rs 43 lakh. The beneficiaries of the project were selected through the district administration, Charaideo and Sivasagar district.

Speaking on the occasion, ED-Asset Manager, Assam Asset, SD Maske said, “Any disability can be life-shattering. It should not come in the way of leading a life of dignity. It is our sincere efforts to enable the Divyangs to lead a better life. Our dream is to continue the endeavour to reach out to all the amputees of our operational areas.”
