DOOMDOOMA: An inter-college national-level online quiz competition was held on 20th September in the context of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav by Debating and Literary Section of the Doomdooma College Students' Union.

Altogether there were 74 applicants of which only 66 could qualify to the preliminary round. This competition was open to only undergraduate students of various academic institutions. The prize money were Rs 6000, Rs 5000, Rs 4000, Rs 3000, Rs 2000 and Rs 1000 respectively. Apart from Assam, there were participants from Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore. The online platform for the competition was Google Meet.

The lighting of the lamp was done by Ramesh Goswami, Governing Body President of Doomdooma College. Rich tributes were paid to the late Raihan Shah, former Principal of Doomdooma College. The Principal of Doomdooma College delivered his welcome address and declared the quiz open. The programme was anchored by Chimi Deka, Assistant Professor of English, Doomdooma College. A brief insight on the late Principal was given by Champa Rao Mohan, Associate and Head of the Department of English of the college. The inaugural session was relayed on the online Zoom Platform. The preliminary round of the quiz commenced at sharp 10.30 am.

The Quiz Masters were Dipankar Kaushik and Dhrubajyoti Barman. The prelims ended by 3.30 pm with 6 participants. The final round started at around 5 pm with Kaushik making it a wonderful quizzing session. No pandemic could dampen the spirit of quizzing since it was well coordinated with all the technical credentials taken care of by his team. The competition ended at 7.30 declaring the six winners of the day.
