Opium worth Rs 7 lakh seized from Nagaland border

BOKAJAN: In its continued drive against narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, police in Karbi Anglong district seized 7 kg of Opium from two vehicles at Khakhati bordering Nagaland on Saturday. Acting on specific inputs, a police team intercepted both the vehicles bearing registration number NL 07AA 3057 and BR 06GF 6731 and recovered the consignment hidden inside the cabin of the trucks. Meanwhile, four persons identified as Tarbir Gurung of Khatkhati Kharia Gaon, Sagar Tungan of Manipur, Ganesh Yadav and Sunit Singh were arrested in this connection. Ganesh and Sunit are residents of Bihar. Further interrogation is on.
