LAKHIMPUR: An orientation programme for non-teaching staff was held at Lakhimpur Commerce College on Thursday. The day-long workshop was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the college and it was inaugurated by Principal Dr Lohit Hazarika.

The objective of the programme was explained by Dr Dadul Rajnowar, coordinator of the IQAC of the college. Speaking at the orientation, Dr Rajkonwar said that the director of IQAC-Dibrugarh University had suggested the methods of keeping office files, to develop an administrative profile along with individual ones, documentation of office records ranging from admission of students, results, drop outs, expenditure on infrastructure, e-governance by the non-teaching staff of the college. He further explained about the various financial assistance meant for the students like scholarships to be kept ready as records.

Dr Rajkonwar informed the audience about the internal audit and external audit of accounts of the college in that orientation. On library, the IQAC coordinator asked the librarian of the college to develop its brief profile, including its mission, vision and objectives along with its history. He also demonstrated how to keep all the records of books and journals purchased for the library, including the e-resources. Dr Dadul Rajkonwar also urged the library staff to keep the library log book updated along with the visitor's book.
