Orientation Programme on COVID-19 for medical officers held at Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh: A training-cum-orientation programme on COVID-19 for medical officers was held on Friday in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Dibrugarh.

The programme, which was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha discussed the various protocol and personal protection steps to be maintained by medical professionals while screening suspected cases of COVID-19 in their respective hospitals.

Stressing on the need of home quarantining of each and every person with travel history to the COVID-19 affected areas, Deputy Commissioner Jha said that home quarantining of such persons is the best way to contain the spread of COVID 19 in the district. He also directed circle officers to take strict action against such persons, who do not observe home quarantine guidelines. Deputy Commissioner Jha also appealed to all medical professionals to make people aware about the process of home quarantining. The tea garden authorities present in the programme were also asked to make tea garden labourers aware about social distancing and preventive measures to be taken to prevent the virus from spreading. The training-cum-orientation programme was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Dipu Kumar Deka, Dr. Nabajyoti Gogoi, SDM& HOs, medical officers from Model hospitals and tea garden hospitals among others.
