TAMULPUR: An orientation workshop was organised on Child Friendly Constituency among the VCDC members, school management committee members and NGOs of Tamulpur Constituency on Tuesday. The workshop was organised by Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights in collaboration with UNICEF Assam and Studio Nilima at AABSU Office Hall in Matanga Chowk, Tamulpur district.

Maharshi Goswami, Technical Consultant, ASCPCR, welcomed the dignitaries and participants of the workshop and gave a brief about the Suraksha Campaign- a joint campaign by ASCPCR and UNICEF Assam, launched in 2020 with a message 'End Violence Against Children'.

Ajoy Kumar Dutta, Member, ASCPCR, on his welcome address thanked the participants for their valuable time to attend the workshop. He spoke about the situation of children in Assam and issues of violence against children which needs a collective effort of the society to be tackled with.

Dr. Pilu Hazarika, Member, ASCPCR, spoke about the powers and functions of the ASCPCR and reiterated the role of duty bearers in protection of child rights with a focus on highlighting key provisions pertaining to protection of child rights, stated a press release.
