Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) Chief Executive Member Tuliram Ronghang was there to take part in the celebrations and personally welcome the new members. The event, organized by the BJP's Amreng and Kapili Mandal Committees, drew over 5,000 BJP supporters, demonstrating the party's growing influence in this mountainous district.
In his speech, Ronghang emphasized the importance of unity within the community to maintain lasting peace and promote fair development everywhere. He also talked about plans to build a community hall and stage near the rally site and to speed up infrastructure projects in Amreng and Kapili, reaffirming the BJP-led KAAC’s commitment to balanced progress. Pawan Kumar, the MAC from Kapili's 7 No. seat, emphasized what the administration has achieved under BJP leadership and praised Ronghang’s efforts. Rina Terangpi, who manages the 09 No. Amreng area, pointed out the advancements made in infrastructure and welfare since the party took charge.
The rally saw a great turnout, with KAAC Executive Members, MACs, board chairpersons, and even former MAC Chandra Bahadur Chetri showing up. Top district BJP officials were there too, along with prominent leaders like Lok Sabha MP Amarsing Tisso, MLAs Bidya Sing Engleng from Diphu, Dorsing Ronghang from Howraghat, and Rupsing Teron from Baithalangso. The large turnout at the event is slated to give the BJP a much-needed boost in spirits ahead of the upcoming elections. It also seems to have strengthened BJP’s position in the autonomous hill regions of Assam.
