Paddy Seedling Planting Festival in Chhaygaon Constituency

BOKO: As a part of agriculture activities in village areas, Falafang village in Chhaygaon constituency, some 60 km from Guwahati, celebrated the paddy seedling planting festival on Wednesday. On this occasion, the villagers plowed their agricultural fields with 21 pairs of oxen for planting new paddy seedlings. After that women planted paddy seedlings in the 20-bigha paddy field. In this regard the village president, Paresh Rabha said that they used to celebrate this festival every year. He said that they will use the rice in the Bhogali Bihu festival and the remaining rice will be sold in the market. The money to be raised in that way will be spent for the development of the village.
