DHEKIAJULI: As the Panchayat election draws closer, political fervour is heating up across Dhekiajuli co-district. In a significant show of strength, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held a massive public rally on Wednesday at Borgaon under the Borsola Legislative Assembly constituency under Dhekiajuli co-district. The rally, held at 12 noon, saw an impressive turnout, signalling the party’s growing grassroots momentum.

The highlight of the event was the address by BJP’s state President Dilip Saikia, who struck a refreshing tone, distinct from the often combative nature of election speeches. Saikia’s speech was lauded for its substance and civility, steering clear of hate, personal attacks, or divisive rhetoric. Instead, he emphasized core values rooted in Indian civilization, cultural heritage and principled politics, presenting a vision anchored in integrity and collective progress.

“The time has come for politics to reflect our cultural ethos that one that builds not breaks, unites not divides,” said Saikia, drawing enthusiastic applause from the crowd.

The rally was also attended by prominent leaders including Tezpur MP Ranjit Dutta, former MP Pallab Lochan Das, and dynamic BJP youth leaders Kishor Upadhyay and Batas Orang. Shiv Charan Sahu, the BJP candidate for the Thelamara Zila Parishad seat, was present along with candidates contesting in three other Zila Parishad constituencies within Borsola constituency, and a host of party nominees running for various Panchayat positions.

The show of organizational strength and the focus on value-driven messaging underscores BJP’s strategic pivot towards positive campaigning, even as it intensifies efforts to outpace the Opposition across rural Assam.

With the party’s top brass actively engaging at the grassroots, the BJP appears poised to make significant inroads in the upcoming Panchayat polls not just with numbers, but with a narrative rooted in responsibility.
