Parking Slots Shrink Road in Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh: The dimensions of the HS Road, Dibrugarh as reported earlier, are shrinking more and more due to a sizeable portion of the road being used as parking space.

Private groups, whom the Municipality has outsourced the work to, are charging a parking fee for vehicles being parked in the space. All this has come for a price for the commuters as the surface area of the road has reduced considerably. In addition to the vehicles owners who park their rides while visiting the market, the place is also used by many residents of the area for parking their vehicles owing to lack of parking facilities within their residences. Things have become so bad that a commuter always runs the risk of running into any of the parked vehicles. Although traffic police have been deployed on the road, things are only turning messier with a steady rise in the number of vehicles.
