People Demand BJP Ticket For Kulendra Daulagupu

Haflong: Demanding BJP party ticket in favor of Kulendra Daulagupu in the 12th N C Hills Autonomous Council Election, the conscious citizens, the majority of the gaon buras and people belonging to different communities of 15-Hatikhali AC Constituency held a press meet at Hatikhali market on Sunday.

They urged the BJP State leadership to allot the party ticket to Kulendra Daulagupu, sitting Member of Autonomous Council (MAC), for the forthcoming 12 North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC) elections in view of his vast experience and knowledge in public life.

While interacting with the media, they mentioned that Daulagupu had served as a member (in the rank of Joint Secretary, Government of India: 2002-2004) in the National Commission for Youth (NCY) under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports during the NDA government led by Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Moreover, he is one of the few highly qualified politicians of the Dima Hasao district with MA in English and PG Diploma in Cinema. Besides, he is a popular leader and had been elected to the NCHAC for two consecutive terms from 15- Hatikhali AC Constituency. He had looked after different portfolios as an Executive Member like Health and Family Welfare, Education, Sports and Youth Welfare, Tourism and Land Revenue. During his tenure, he had initiated and executed many development activities, particularly in the field of education and tourism.

They said, “We feel that Kulendra Daulagupu is a man of vision and action and he deserves another chance. May he be allotted the party ticket by the BJP State leadership to contest the 12th NC Hills Autonomous Council election from 15-Hatikhali Constituency and we assure all that Kulendra Daulagupu will be elected with a better margin than the previous one.”
