Haflong: Joint Director of Health Services, Dima Hasao, Dr Dipali Barman said that people should be more responsible and sensitive in maintaining COVID protocol otherwise people would have to suffer a lot as the community transmission of COVID had started in Dima Hasao.

Dr Barman said that the medical staff was doing their best, despite shortage of doctors and other staff, but people did not seem to be willing to understand the gravity of the situation. "We have been informing the government and also placing the requirements of test kits but we have received 500 kits against the demand of 5,000 kits. At present, 50 positive patients are being treated at Haflong Civil Hospital," she said. Total 58 positive cases were detected out of 110 workers of Sushi Company engaged for the construction of NH. They are being treated at their camp at Harangajao under home isolation. Dr Barman further appealed to the people of Dima Hasao to be more responsible and not to venture out unnecessarily, especially old people and children.
