People’s Aid (Trust) distributes ration, holds awareness meet in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar: For the ninth consecutive round, under the aegis of the People’s Aid (Trust), an awareness meet on the COVID-19 pandemic was held at different places under Serfanguri area in Kokrajhar district. Considering the hardships faced by the underprivileged and needy people in the area due to nationwide lockdown, special care was taken by distributing food items like rice, pulses, edible oil, salt, potato, and masks. Coronavirus awareness pamphlets were also distributed among the public. As many as 500 families from 19 villages benefited from this programme. Nava Kumar Basumatary, president of the People’s Aid, spoke about how the spread of the disease could be stopped. He also appealed to people to obey the lockdown guidelines and to maintain social distancing, to wear masks and to stay at home.
