DHUBRI: A new energy can be seen in primary and middle school education with the entry of Piramal Foundation to upgrade the standard of education in Dhubri district since the past eight months. Niti Aayog and Piramal Foundation entered into an agreement to work together with the district administration in 115 aspirational districts of the country and Dhubri is one of the five aspirational districts of Assam selected by the government on six socio-economic parameters.

Talking to The Sentinel, District Manager of Piramal Foundation, Udai Singh Chundawat said that despite all odds and challenges, government officials, members and the fellows of Piramal Foundation had been working mutually for the past eight months to set an example by bringing positive change in the field of education.

The programme was launched under ‘School Transformation Road Map’ in five educational blocks of Dhubri district in all lower primary and middle schools after conducting workshop aiming to instil a collaborative environment among the Cluster Resource Centre Coordinators (CRCCs), Chundawat informed.

District Programme leader Sadasiva Reddy of Piramal Foundation informed that apart from this, in order to create a positive ambience among the headmasters, teachers and community, a platform was introduced to appreciate the new, innovative ideas and best practices of the schools to make it a Jan Andolan. The idea behind this is to bring the schools authority and community all together by emphasizing the ownership of the community towards their school and establish a group of like-minded people from CRCC, teachers, alumni and former teachers for sharing, whether in terms of classroom interventions, assembly or other co-curricular activities such as sports and Saturday club, Reddy said.
