Placements provided to educated unemployed youths in Hailakandi

HAILAKANDI: Quite a good number of educated unemployed youths of Hailakandi district have been provided Employment through Skill Training and Placement (EST&P) under DAY-NULM.

Under EST&P, skill training has been provided to 640 educated youths out of which 146 have got placements at different firms both within and outside the district. Placements have also been provided through job fair.

Besides, revolving funds have been extended to 164 Self Help Groups at the rate of Rs.25,000 each and to seven numbers of Area Level Federations at Rs.50,000 each under Social Mobilisation and Institutional Development (SMID). A CLC has been set up.

Under Self Employment Programme (SEP), loans have been provided to 53 beneficiaries amounting to Rs.66.25 lakh. 69 SHGs have been extended loans through bank linkage involving a little over Rs.1.03 crore. EDP training has been imparted to 60 SHGs.

Under Pradhan Mantri SAVANidhi Scheme, 512 numbers of Letter of Recommendations have been issued so far. Out of 317 loan applications submitted by street vendors, 143 have been sanctioned. Loan at the rate of Rs.10,000 each has been disbursed to 111 street vendors so far.
