SILCHAR: Even as the number of COVID-19 patients go up across the valley, SMCH, the epicentre of treatment, is being boosted up with plasma donation in its drive to defeat the mysterious killer virus. Four more corona warriors of the Kadamtala Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of Inspector General (East) of the frontier force after having recovered from COVID-19, voluntarily donated blood plasma at Silchar Medical College and Hospital. Earlier, 5 soldiers defeating the disease donated plasma. This will be beneficial for the treatment of patients.

The district administration and the health authority lauded the efforts of Assam Rifles for their contributions towards the humanitarian cause. The services of the soldiers and their commitment to continue the noble cause will always be remembered and appreciated. The administration is hopeful Assam Rifles will continue to work for the welfare of the nation and people.

In the meantime, Marwari Yuva Mancha Barak Valley team foundation, Saksham, Rotary Club have together joined the plasma donation drive from the evening of Friday. Dilip Kumar of the Mancha said their aim is to donate themselves and educate others to participate in such a great cause to serve the society when the entire country is caught in the raging whirlpool of the killer disease. Their motto is donate plasma, save life and earn world's greatest virtue.
