PM interacts with Jan Aushadhi beneficiaries

JORHAT, June 7: Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with Jan Aushadhi beneficiaries of Jorhat at the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana Kendra (PMBJPK) through video conferencing on Thursday. Talking to media persons, Tapan Gohain, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Health), said that the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana Kendra (PMBJPK) had been set up to provide generic drugs which were available at lesser prices but were equivalent in quality and efficacy as expensive branded drugs. BPPI (Bureau of Pharma Public Sector Undertakings of India) has been established under the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Government of India, with the support of all the CPSUs for co-coordinating procurement, supply and marketing of generic drugs through Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana Kendra.

Dr Amrit Chandra Saikia, Joint Director, Health and Family Welfare, Jorhat; Dr Dolin Khargoria, Dr Gulap Chandra Deka, Jayanta BorKotoky, chairman of Jorhat Municipality Board, ward members of Jorhat Municipality Board and representatives of NHM were present during the video conferencing.
