GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Assam on February 24 to inaugurate the “Advantage Assam 2.0” investors summit in Guwahati. The summit aims to boost industrial growth, attract investments, and generate employment opportunities in the state.
During the event, a big cultural celebration called “Jhumoir Binondini” will take place at the Sarusajai Stadium. Over 8,000 artists, mostly from Assam’s tea community, will perform the traditional Jhumur dance. This large-scale performance aims to highlight Assam’s rich cultural heritage on an international platform.
On February 25, PM Modi will officially launch the “Advantage Assam 2.0” summit at Khanapara, with investment commitments expected to reach approximately Rs 3 lakh crore. The initiative seeks to reshape Assam’s industrial landscape and establish the state as a prominent investment hub in Southeast Asia.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has been actively promoting the state’s potential across various sectors, including semiconductors, infrastructure, and deep technology. The initiative aims to reduce unemployment and create many job opportunities, making Assam an important part of India’s economic growth.
Meanwhile, the Guwahati Ring Road, a flagship infrastructure project in Assam, is set to become a reality within the next four years. The project was awarded to a successful bidder on February 6, just ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to the state later this month.
