BAKSA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday halted his election rally speech here for a while to direct his medical team to attend to a person in the crowd who fainted due to reported dehydration.

Modi was midway through his lecture when he noticed a man collapsing in the crowd sitting in front of the stage. He immediately stopped his speech and asked the team of doctors who were accompanying him to attend the person, who was later later identified as 93-year-old Hari Charan Das.

"A party worker seems to be in pain. He seems to be suffering from dehydration. PMO medical team please go and see the man," Modi said.

"Pausing in the middle of his speech at Laupara near Nagrijuli under Tamulpur constituency, PM Modi promptly directed the team of PMO doctors to give immediate assistance to the old-aged person. His condition is stable now," the BJP tweeted. Modi was here to address his last Assam assembly election rally.

Hari Charan Das is a former counsellor of Nagrijuli, father of Dharmanarayan Das, an executive member of BTR. It is worth mentioning that while the incident took place, BTR executive member Dharmanarayan Das was conducting the meeting of PM Modi. Later on Haricharan Das was admitted in Nagrijuli Model Hospital. BTR Chief Pramod Boro who was also present in the meeting, appreciated PM Modi for his kindness. Appreciating PM Modi, Pramod Boro said, "We are lucky to have Narendra Modi as our Prime Minister."
