Police administration reviews law and order in Lakhimpur in the wake of the grenade blast in Guwahati city

LAKHIMPUR: The Police Department has become alert in Lakhimpur in the wake of the grenade blast in the heart of Guwahati city at Wednesday night wherein 12 persons, including two SSB jawans, were injured.

In this regard, a review meeting under the auspices of the Lakhimpur Police Department about the law and order of the district was held on Thursday in the presence of high-level police officers and the representatives of the various organizations. The meeting was chaired by Lakhimpur ASP Pranab Kumar Pegu. Taking part in the event, Lakhimpur SP Hare Krishna Nath appealed to all to be aware of any incident which violated law and order and caused a threat to the life of common people. He stressed on being alert against such incident before it was happened rather than being alert after it happened. “We all should carry out our duties as good citizens of the nation and the State in this regard,” he suggested.

In the meeting, a discussion was done on lighting the alleys, lanes and by-lanes of North Lakhimpur town along with VDP watch with the help of commercial institutions and installing CC cameras in front of the households of capable persons.

Regarding these issues, some crucial decisions were taken in the meeting. Lakhimpur DSP (Headquarter) Runa Neog, OC of North Lakhimpur Police Station, Aditya Prakash Deori, Officer-in-charge of Traffic Police, North Lakhimpur Municipal Board chairman Surya Phukan, members and representatives of the Chambers of Commerce and many other organizations of the district were present in the meeting.
