SILCHAR: Cachar police arrested two Moulanas following an FIR lodged by a student alleging that he was tortured by the clerics. The Moulanas were identified as Abul Hussain and Dilowar Hussain. Abul Hussain is the Head Teacher of Swadhin Bazar Islamia Madrassa and Dilowar is his assistant teacher.
Saheb Uddin Khan, father of Shaheen Khan, the student who lodged the complaint said, his son took admission in the residential Madrassa in March. Shaheen alleged that after five months of his admission, the Head Teacher called him at his residence at night and started to teach him on jihad. The father son duo alleged that the Moulana in his late night lectures used to promote jihad particularly against the Hindus.
Madrassa committee on the other hand refuted the charge as fabricated. They pointed finger at Saheb Uddin Khan alleging that he was trying to blackmail and extort money. Members of the committee said, Shaheen regularly violated the hostel norms and used to stay out till late night. On October 19, Shaheen was rebuked by the Moulana. Next day the father took his son back to their home. Later Saheb Uddin demanded Rs 10 thousands threatening that if denied he would lodge complaint. Saheb Uddin continued with his demand for next fifteen days and finally out of frustration he brought wild allegations against the Head Teacher and the Assistant Teacher.
SP Nomal Mahato who was reportedly investigating the case confirmed the arrest of the Moulanas. One interesting twist in the entire episode is that Shaheen in his FIR alleged that he was tortured on October 19 and the FIR was finally lodged on November 11.
