Police officer takes upon himself to remove carcass, appreciated by society

MANGALDAI: Officer-in-charge of Kalaigaon Police Station, Inspector Prasenjit Das was seen on Tuesday removing the carcass of a stray dog lying on the MB Road at Kalaigaon which was killed by a speeding vehicle. As the local civic body failed to remove the carcass lying on the road for more than 12 hours, the smart cop used his bare hands to lift the carcass and put it in a bag to dispose it in a proper place. All sections of the society appreciated the initiative of the young officer.

On being contacted over phone, this humble cop simply said that he had done his duty only. The video footage of removing the carcass meanwhile has gone viral on social media.
