Police recovered stolen car at Itakhola

JAMUGURIHAT: Days after Biswanath police busted a gang of car lifters, a stolen car was recovered at Itakhola on Monday night. It is to be mentioned here that a gang of car lifters had stolen more than three cars from Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh months back from a travel agency. The stolen Maruti S Presso Car from Naharlagun bearing registration number As 01 Q 5361, one of the stolen cars, was spotted near Itakhola weekly market by local people and they immediately informed Itakhola police. A team of Itakhola police reached the site and recovered the car and took it into their possession. The vehicle was locked and the number plate was removed during the time of recovery, said a police official. From the registration number, police later identified that the vehicle belonged to an executive engineer from Naharlagun which was stolen two days ago.
