NAGAON: Nagaon police finally got the breakthrough and were able to rescue the children, including a 3-year old boy and 10-year old girl, who went missing from Nagaon Civil Hospital on Wednesday afternoon and also found out the identity of the female patient who succumbed to her burn injury on Monday evening at her hospital bed, sources added.

Nagaon police rescued the missing girl first and on the basis of her statement, subsequently police rescued the 3-year old boy from a household of Samaguri Dijubasti area on Wednesday afternoon, sources said, adding that the woman who succumbed to her injury had been identified as Karuna Murda, wife of Munna Ghoria of Dhekiajuli Batasipur near the railway station.

Meanwhile, police also picked up three persons, including two women, identified as Idrish Ali, his wife Nurnehar Begum and Rahima Begum in this regard.

Sources claimed that Idrish Ali's sister-in-law Rahima Begum, a resident of Nagaon Shiyalmari area, purchased the 3-year old boy at Rs 3,000 from the girl a couple of days back and handed over the child to Idrish Ali. Police recovered a blank paper with thumb signature from the possession of Idrish Ali too.
