BARPETA: In Barpeta district, the polling officials will set out for the polling stations in char areas and remote places on April 4. In Baghbar LAC theree are 92 such polling stations and in Chenga there are 46. All total 690 polling officials will start their journey towards their respective polling stations on April 4 from MC College, strong room, Barpeta.

To keep the EVMs for one day, on their way to their destined polling stations, there are total 9 strong rooms. In other places, there 1,468 polling stations where 7,296 polling officials will handle the process. On April 5, the polling officials of these areas will go to their respective polling stations. In each polling station there will be one presiding officer and three polling officer and one security guard.

In Barpeta district, there are total 1,596 polling stations. Total 798 polling stations will be under CCTV surveillance and webcasting will be also there. There will be videography of the polling stations. There are 61 polling stations identified as critical. Deputy Commissioner Munindra Sarma has visited most of the polling stations and there will also be observer for each polling station.
