BARPETA: Some contractors who have been supplying food items and other materials for the COVID warriors of Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital (FAAMCH) and COVID patients of Barpeta, have allegedly benefited by supplying low quality food to the frontline health workers of FAAMCH.

Some frontline health workers like nurses, ward boys and sweepers have been quarantined for seven days in a hotel at Barpeta Road after their COVID duty. In that hotel they are allegedly not given proper food. The health workers have complained against the food suppliers and said that instead of staying in an unhygienic hotel without getting proper food, it was better to stay under home quarantine. All total 27 health workers, including nurses, ward boys and sweepers, have been quarantined in a hotel at Barpeta Road and they did not get proper food during their stay in the hotel. On the other hand, COVID-19 positive patients who are quarantined in various COVID care centres in Barpeta like MC College, Barpeta, Barpeta Civil Hospital and Sarbhog Model School have also allegedly not got proper food.
