SILCHAR: Around 12 schools in Cachar district with zero per cent pass in recent HSLC examination have been served show-cause notice. District School Inspector Semina Yasmin Ara Rahman had confirmed the news. She said, strict action against these schools would be taken after analysing the cause of such dismal performance. Out of these 12 schools, five schools are government aided and rest seven are still in venture level.

From Phulbari High School of Katigorah, 40 students appeared in the HSLC examination this year and none of them could reach the minimum pass marks. Similarly, Khurshed Ali Sukhdeb Nath High School with 18 students, Lakhipur Girls' High School with 23 students, Nehru Girls High School with 9 students and Salehpur Leiha Debi Manipuri High School with 7 students recorded zero per cent pass percentage. Interestingly, Leiha Debi Manipuri School has 12 teachers but none of the seven students could pass the examination.
