Poor road construction work causes resentment in Udalguri district

KALAIGAON: The construction of the road from Bhakatpara to Kalitapara in the Udalguri district under NLCP has led to resentment among the people of the area due to alleged sub-standard work.

The people have complained to the Deputy Commissioner of Udalguri to visit this site and direct the contractor engaged for the work to follow the plan and estimate. The people also stated that the road was the only connectivity for this area and the lifeline of the farmers. So, they urged the authority concerned to ensure that the work is completed as per specification. The people alleged that the construction work of the road was not carried out as per specification. At the same time, the contractor used sub-standard materials.

They urged the DC to look into the matter for the greater interest of the public.
