TINSUKIA: The Bandarkhati MPHC (Mini Primary Health Centre) under Hapjan BPHC in Doomdooma revenue circle is in a deplorable state with a lone pharmacist who too is allegedly irregular in attending duty. Though there was a lab technician attached to the MPHC, presently he has been assigned at DEIC (District Early Intervention Centre) of NHM.

The Babdarkhati MPHC provides basic health services to people of 15 villages. The local people, who are aggrieved by the state of affairs, blamed the District Health Department for the 'apathetic attitude' towards this remote health centre even as some villagers have already been affected by suspected COVID. They demanded that the government at earliest should appoint a doctor along with paramedics keeping in view the surging COVID cases in rural areas. A contractual doctor left the centre after his term expired on May 15.
