KALAIGAON: As part of Poshan Maah, an awareness meeting was held in the premises of the Bhehguri Anganawadi Centre under Kalaigaon ICDS Project here on Friday.

Representatives of five other Anganwadi Centres, namely Madhy Bhehguri AWC, Balipara AWC, Uttar Bhehguri AWC, Pachim Bhehguri AWC and Shagunbahi AWC were also present. This meeting was presided over by Bishambar Ch. Das, chairman of Majarchuba Village Council Development Committee (VCDC), and it was supervised by supervisor Parul Rabha.

Bodiuz Zaman Ahmed, Child Project Officer ( CDPO ) of Kalaigaon ICDS Project, spoke in presence of a large number of Anganwadi workers to create awareness of preparing nutritious food for pregnant women and adolescent children along with mothers and Anganwadi workers. CDPO Ahmed urged the mothers and Anganwadi workers to feed the children with nutritious food to make them healthy. He also said that the month-long Poshan Abhiyaan has been observed to create awareness on the need of nutritious food to reduce stunting among children and to ensure their full blossoming, both mentally and physically.

The month-long Poshan Maah is underway in all the Anganwadi centers across the Kalaigaon area from September 1 and it will culminate on September 30. Speaking on the occasion, supervisor Nibedita Deka said that the Ministry of Women and Child Development had been celebrating the 5th Rashtriya Poshan Mah 2022 (National Nutrition Month, 2022) across the nation from September 1 until September 30. This year, the objective is to trigger Poshan Maah through Gram Panchayats as Poshan Panchayats with a key focus on 'Woman and Health' (Mahila aur Swasthya) and 'Child and Education' (Bacha aur Shiksha), she added. The meeting was attended by village head Dilip Borah, journalist Arun Sarma and ICDS official Ansar Ali.
