Postal employees stage hunger strike in Jorhat

JORHAT, May 31: Along with the rest of the country, the National Federation of Postal Employees’ Union, Jorhat branch observed one-day hunger strike in front of the Jorhat head post office which covers three undivided Sivasagar districts, now turned into five districts of Jorhat, Majuli, Sivasagar, Golaghat and Charaideo, to pressurize the government to implement the recommendation of the Kamlesh Chandra Committee Report for GDS, said Abhijit Baruah, the Jorhat divisional Employees’ Union secretary on Thursday.
