Power crisis at dialysis unit at Nagaon Paper Mill caused immense inconvenience

JAGIROAD: The unprecedented power cuts at the Dialysis Unit in the Nagaon Paper Mill (NPM) premises at Jagiroad has caused immense inconvenience for patients and their attendants.

It is alleged that the Assam Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC) which took over the charge of the defunct Nagaon Paper Mill, had cut the power supply to the unit with the help of the APDCL without any prior notice to the unit. The National Health Mission (NHM) signed an MoU with Apollo Hospital to set up a Dialysis unit there. The unit started operating and more than 30 patients are undergoing treatment at the dialysis unit now. The patients and their attendants called upon the authority concerned to take immediate measure and restore normal power supply to the unit at the earliest.
