Power Minister Nandita Garlocha takes stock of flood situation in Nalbari

NALBARI: The recent floods in the Nalbari district have caused heavy damage in various parts of the State. The newly appointed Power Minister Nandita Garlocha, visited the Nalbari district on Monday under the direction of Chief Minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The minister first addressed a flood review meeting with District Commissioner Gitimani Fukan and other senior officers of various departments of the district, Zonal Development Officers and other concerned officers at the meeting room of Nalbari District Commissioner's office. Through the review meeting, the minister tried to get a clear picture of the post-flood situation in the district. He also asked all the departments to complete their respective departmental damage within the next 10 days as per the survey conducted so far under the departments of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, Water Resources, Fisheries, Agriculture, Public Health and Technical, Energy, Education etc. He directed the information to be submitted to the concerned department.
