Baithalangso: Amid the ongoing Covid 19 epidemic along with the other parts of the world pre- Christmas celebration begins in west Karbi Anglong district of Assam too. The Christian community of the Baithalangso of West Karbi Anglong celebrated pre- Christmas on Sunday (December 13) with the theme "When the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son" taken from the Holy scriptures Galatians 4:4.

The event was organized by Joint Christian Committee at the premises of Baithalangso Sports Association.

Members from as many as 30 churches attended on the auspicious occasion.

Culturalprograms such are dancing, singing was held.

Speaking to the media, Rev. Brightlingson Terang said, "the goal of celebrating pre-Christmas this year is to bring peace among all the people of the world as after the novel coronavirus hit the globe we all have been going through a tough time. We pray not only for Karbi Anglong and Assam but also for the entire world that the Almighty may bless all of us with happiness and peace."

The Holy Christmas is at hand and the Christians are seen with joy and enthusiasm to welcome Christmas.

As the holy month for Christians began from the first day of December, each year pre-Christmas is celebrated in every nook and corner around the world from its first week. Jesus Christ the Saviour was born on the 25th of December and this very day, the Christians celebrate Christmas. But prior to this day, pre-Christmas is being celebrated everywhere.

Christmas is celebrated to mark the birth of Jesus Christ, who the Christians believe is the Son of God. The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine. However, there are many different traditions and theories as to why Christmas is celebrated on December 25th.
