Preparations for Bir Lachit Barphukhan event reviewed to mark 400th birth anniversary
The programmes will include boat racing, cleanliness drives, motorcycle rallies, half marathons, street plays, competitions, cultural programmes etc.

GUWAHATI: The Kamrup (M) administration on Wednesday held a meeting to review preparations for celebrating the 400th birth anniversary of legendary general Bir Lachit Barphukon.
The meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha was attended, among others, by representatives of universities, colleges, schools and organizations of the Kamrup (M) district along with officials from various departments.
The meeting discussed smooth conduct of Lachit Divas celebrations in various institutions and locations. The programmes will include boat racing, cleanliness drives, motorcycle rallies, half marathons, street plays, competitions of indigenous sports, cultural programmes etc.
