Preparations underway to celebrate 125 years of John Firth Christian English High School

LAKHIMPUR: John Firth Christian English High School, located in North Lakhimpur town, will complete its 125 years of foundation in February next year. The authority of the school has decided to celebrate its quasquicentennial jubilee on February 3 and February 4 and has undertaken massive preparations to celebrate the event with grand success.

In this regard, a public meeting in the presence of the former teachers, alumni, present teachers and students, parents of the students and members of the School Management Committee was held on Saturday. The meeting commenced with alumnus and senior journalist Devendra Kumar Pandey in the chair under the management of Mosfur Ali Hazarika.

In the same programme, the ad-hoc celebration committee that was constituted on October 31 in order to celebrate the event, was reconstituted with Devendra Kumar Pandey as president, Sipur Bhawal as a working president, Dulami Herenj Pandu as vice-president and Mosfur Ali Hazarika as secretary.

The celebration committee decided to organize an alumni session and to publish a souvenir in connection with the event.
