Preparedness meeting on COVID-19 held At Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: A preparedness and containment of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) meeting was held on Monday with all heads of the line departments at the conference hall at Deputy Commissioner’s office, Kokrajhar. The meeting was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Debeswar Bora.
The aim of the meeting was to take necessary steps to prevent COVID-19 as well as awareness generation. Several points were discussed such as identification of facilities/buildings that could be used as quarantine centres or could be converted to temporary hospitals with isolation facilities, and formation of rapid action teams. Hand wash techniques were also practiced by the officials present in the meeting and a detailed power point presentation on COVID-19 was given by Dr. PP Barman, M&HO-I miscellaneous.
Talking to reporters, the District Surveillance Officer, Dr. Anmol Mashahry said the meeting discussed at length the preventive measures of deadly COVID-19 and necessary initiative that had been taken to prevent its spread. He also said seven isolation centres had been set up in the district, including Gossaigaon, Serfanguri, Kokrajhar, Dotma and Porbhatjhora.
Meanwhile, the preparedness meeting on COVID-19 was also held at Chirang District Centre with Additional Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer-cum-Member Secretary, District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Chirang Karmadev Brahma in the chair. The meeting discussed the preventive measures.
