Presiding-polling officers' second phase training ends in Lakhimpur Election District

LAKHIMPUR: The second phase training of the presiding and polling officers under Lakhimpur Election District, who are appointed for the conduction of polling of Assam Legislative Assembly Election—2021 to be held on March 27, concluded on Monday.

A total of 957 presiding officers and 2871 polling officers will conduct the polling in three Legislative Assembly Constituencies (LACs), namely No. 109 Bihpuriya LAC, No. 110 Naoboicha LAC and No. 111 Lakhimpur LAC, under the Election District. Altogether 93 master trainers administered the due training to these presiding and polling officers in different places of the district regarding the use and operation of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) or Verified Paper Record (VPR). In the training, the presiding and polling officers were asked to conduct the polling by adhering to the COVID-19 protocol strictly. The training was conducted following COVID-19 protocol at the training venues.
