DOOMDOOMA: To mark 75 years of India's Independence, the nationwide celebration of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday in Gujarat. As per the guidelines and instruction of Director of Higher Education, Assam this auspicious occasion was also celebrated at BirRaghav Moran Government Model College, Doomdooma by organizing a talk on the topic — India's freedom stuggle — on Friday.

The event was presided over by the Principal of the College, Dr. AmorjitSaikia. BishwajitSonowal, Assistant Professor, Department of History and ParismitaBhagawati, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science of the college delivered talks on the struggle for India's independence.

At the end, Dipu Sharma, Assistant Professor of the Department of History delivered the vote of thanks.
