Numaligarh: A programme was held in memory of journalist Amulya Dutta at Morangi College (Junior) on Sunday. The memorial programme was presided over by Anil Saikia, president of the memorial programme. Floral tribute was offered at the photograph of Amulya Dutta and earthen lamp was also lit.

A souvenir was unveiled by well-known writer Manoj Kr Saikia. The souvenir has details about the life, ideologies and thoughts of Amulya Dutta who lost his life in a tragic road accident two months back. Senior journalists Utpal Bora, Dipen Dutta, APCU district president Nabin Gohain with other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

Morangi Press Cub secretary Priyangdeep Kakoti said that the Amulya Dutta Memorial Journalist Welfare Trust would look after his wife and two daughters. The trust will bear the cost of the formal education of both his daughters and a social programme would be held every year to commemorate Dutta.
